Grove Artist Profile - Illustrator Gabby Ventura

One of the most important maxims for any writer is to "Show, Not Tell."

To offer you a visual story of what artists are experiencing and creating in The Grove's Cultivated Artist Experience, we are beginning a new series of video and written stories of the artists in our Grove community.

We want to show you real people — living, practical artists and how they are working out their creative life — their hopes, dreams, fears, creative process, their art and authentic stories.

Over the next few months, you'll hear from visual artists, musicians, writers, filmmakers...artists of all kinds. Our hope is to inspire you to keep cultivating, creating and excelling in your craft as an artist.

Today, we'd like to introduce you to Gabby Ventura, a talented young illustrator in our Journey 3 (third year) Cultivated Artist Experience. At our last Cultivated Artist Getaway retreate, we spent four days in Fallbrook, California, at Jerome Gastaldi's home and art studio. Jerome was an incredibly generous host who shared his expertise and wisdom as a lifelong visual artist and sculptor.

You can follow Gabby and her work on Instagram @typcoo_draws.

The video was shot and edited by filmmakers and photographers Mark Perez of Deeper Impressions Video @deeperimpressionsvid and Wade Holm @wadeholm, also artists in our CAE community.

You're invited to join The Grove at our Cultivated Artist Showcase on Saturday evening, June 1, 6-9 PM at Mountain View Church in San Juan Capistrano, where we'll be showcasing the work of over 25 artists with live music, live painting, visual art gallery, authors, photographers and more. $10 presale, $15 at the door. Appetizers, drinks, & dessert!  Click here to purchase your tickets today.

After watching the video, we'd love to hear your thoughts and comments.

What did Gabby say that resonated with you in some way? How was her story similar or different from yours?
