Artist Statement - Jason Leith

"My passion lies between art and social engagement when they come together as one movement. My art practice gets me most fired up when it is harnessed as a means of connection and service.

One reason I have stuck to drawing and painting is that there is no immediate capturing of an image. Instead, both the subject and the artist sit with each other for extended periods of a slow-paced creation environment. It is a type of work that is personal and powerful. I desire to use art on a person-to-person basis, to bridge personal differences and cross spiritual divides."
